I am Birutė – an individual care worker from Šilutė, with up to 2 years of practical experience in caring for seniors. The most important thing in my work is respect for people, their dignity and everyday comfort. I can work in a care home for the elderly, adapting to the order of the institution, teamwork and the individual needs of each resident. I try to create a calm, warm atmosphere where the senior feels safe and heard.
In my daily care, I help to address practical needs and maintain well-being. I can help with bathing a person, taking care of hygiene, changing diaper pads, ensuring cleanliness and comfort. I have experience in flipping and preventing pressure ulcers – this is very important for people who are less mobile, so I work carefully, attentively and according to the established routine. I am also close to working with emotional well-being: I communicate warmly, patiently, maintain a conversation, encourage activity and, if possible, contribute to the organization of leisure time – from simple activities in everyday life to joint activities that help improve mood.
In addition to direct care, the environment is also important to me: I can take care of the cleanliness of the house (or room) so that the senior is comfortable and tidy. I am motivated, responsible, I love cleanliness and order, and diligence is a natural part of my job.
My strengths are communicability, empathy, diligence and patience. I adapt easily to different people and situations, maintain tactful communication and respect. I drive a car with manual and automatic transmissions, speak English and Russian, which helps when communicating with different customers or colleagues.
