It is a state care institution located in the picturesque north-eastern corner of Lithuania, in Utena county. Here, surrounded by nature, where hills stretch through forests and the surface of the lake shimmers on the hillside, residents find not only the comfort of home, but also peace of mind. The care home has been operating since the 1920s, and since 1936 it has been established in the Puodiškės farmstead, where buildings, a garden and the surrounding land were purchased. Today, elderly people from various parts of Lithuania come to the care home – for their convenience, hairdressers, laundry, library, internet access and other services of everyday life are equipped here.
The modern care home in Zarasai seeks to ensure high-quality, individually tailored care and rehabilitation, taking into account the health condition, hobbies and interests of each resident. The institution fosters conditions close to the home environment, which allow residents to feel free, dignified and independent for as long as possible. Residents can engage in various activities: handicrafts, sports, creative activities, as well as participate in the institution’s events, create and strengthen mutual ties.
The mission of the care home is to provide all kinds of social assistance to single, elderly and disabled persons, ensuring their connection with society, and the vision is to become a modern, dignified social service institution. The values cherished in the Zarasai social care home are the uniqueness of each person, the right to a dignified life and respect.
