Marijampolė care home “Giedruma LT” (VšĮ) opened its doors in June 2019, providing a cozy and caring shelter for 30 residents. This care home is intended for elderly people and people with disabilities who are no longer able to take care of themselves due to certain social circumstances. “Giedruma” seeks to ensure the dignity and privacy of residents by creating conditions that match the home environment, in which they feel safe and loved.
The care home employs 12 employees who take care of the daily life of the residents. The premises are equipped to meet all the needs of the residents: each room is equipped with a fire and personnel call system, Internet access, newspapers and magazines. Residents can use household appliances and technical assistance equipment, and hot food is taken to the rooms for those who cannot walk.
At the care home “Giedruma”, great attention is paid to leisure and social integration. Residents participate in thematic events, film screenings, talks and excursions. They also celebrate various holidays, maintain contact with relatives and neighbors. Residents and employees become like one big family, where the most important values are compassion, help and understanding.
