Long-term and short-term social care services are provided in Blocks 1 and 2 of the Lioliai Social Care Unit and the Užventis Social Care Unit for the elderly and adults with disabilities who need constant care. Short-term social care ensures complex assistance requiring intensive specialist care for up to 6 months a year, while long-term care is provided to non-independent persons for an indefinite period. Temporary respite care services are also provided to enable persons caring for relatives at home to reconcile their personal life with their care needs and find time for rest and family interests.
The institution has a physiotherapy room – one of the main rehabilitation measures that helps to renew and maintain physical condition. After assessing the health of the residents, individual physiotherapy plans are drawn up, group and individual exercises are performed, walks with Nordic poles are performed. It also organizes sports events.
Artistic activities stimulate the creativity of residents – they cut, color, create works that decorate rooms and common areas. In the Cognitive Activity Room, residents read newspapers, magazines, use the library and computers, communicate with relatives on the Internet, and listen to music.
The Lioliai care home actively works in wood workshops, where men make furniture and other items from ash wood that decorate the environment of the institution. All these activities contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the population and ensure their employment, communication opportunities and personal development.
