The Kaltinėnai Parish Retirement Home, which started its activities in 1992, celebrates three decades of meaningful work for the elderly and adults with disabilities in 2022. Although the exact month and date of the start of the activity are not known, the existing documents allow to consider 1992 as the official year of establishment of the institution. The first residents were admitted in the same year, and the first official registration in the Šilalė District Municipality took place on June 25, 1996, symbolically commemorating the parish patron saint St. John the Baptist Day.
The mission of the Kaltinėnai care home is to provide long-term and short-term care to persons who need constant help and specialist care. The institution ensures high-quality social and health care services, focuses on the dignity and promotion of independence of the population, and protects their rights and interests. The vision is to create a cozy environment where every resident can feel at home, based on the values of Jesus’ mercy and professionally applying the most advanced methods of care.
Elderly and disabled persons, as well as disabled persons whose relatives are unable to take care of them for objective reasons, are admitted to the care home. Services are provided in two buildings in Kaltinėnai, ensuring access to care for both local and other district residents.
