Biržai parish St. Vincent Paul’s Care Home is a place with deep historical roots and a meaningful mission to provide caring care for the elderly. This two-storey building with an attic in Biržai was built in 1936 with funds donated by Catholic parishioners, and since then it has maintained a meaningful spirit of charitable activities. Here, the seniors were given a refuge established in the St. Peter’s Church. Vincent Paul’s Society, which was engaged in charity and cared for the weakest in the community.
In the post-war years, the building was nationalized, and the grandparents were forced to move out. For five decades, the departments of the Biržai Central Hospital operated here, until in 1994 the building was returned to the parish. In 1997, under the leadership of the dean of bright memory B. At present, up to 27 elderly persons can live in these care homes, who are provided with caring social services.
