Akmenė Social Services House provides long-term social care services to persons who, for various reasons, cannot live in their homes and require constant supervision by specialists. These services include complex assistance, including the gap between the recipient of social services, the Social Services House and the municipal administration. This care is provided to the elderly and adults with disabilities.
The services provided include the organization of leisure and employment, the development and maintenance of daily life skills, the development of work skills, personal health care, personal hygiene services, the organization of transport and other services, depending on the level of independence of the client. A tripartite agreement is signed for customers, and in order to ensure the quality of services, issues of full commitment are required, such as non-payment of utility bills.
This service house was established in 1992, and since 2004 it has become the social service house of Akmenė district. Currently, 111 people live here, who are provided with both long-term and short-term social care services. The staff, consisting of 93 employees, takes care of the well-being of the residents and ensures that the quality of life is as high and comfortable as possible.
